We may be considered “fast food” but everything on our menu is made to order with fresh ingredients. Stop in for our specialty, traditional Mexican style tacos. We offer grilled seasoned chicken, steak, chorizo, or pastor served on warm corn tortillas and topped with cilantro and onion! The Pastor (marinated pork) is slow roasted on a vertical spit with pineapple and onion, exactly how it’s prepared in Mexico. Ever heard of a bacon wrapped burrito? Well we’ve got one! The Adrian’s Burrito is uniquely wrapped in crispy bacon and is sure to conquer even the biggest of appetites! And the best part? Our salsa bar. With a variety of homemade salsas you can spice up and customize your favorite dish exactly how you like it! Website.

#6. The Tamale Place
Many Mexican restaurants like to throw around the word “authentic”. The Tamale Place doesn’t say ‘authentic’, we just do ‘authentic’. We boil bags of white corn with a trace of lime and let cool. This is known as the process of nixtamalization. We then wash and grind the corn which produces fresh masa (corn dough). This was the original way of making tamales in Mexico hundreds of years ago and it is the way that we do it today. This is all natural and uses no preservatives. With the fresh masa, we make our hand-made tamales, tortillas for tacos, and fresh tortilla chips. The Tamale Place prides itself on all natural food – all the time. Website.

# 7 Chuy's
Tex what? While we refer to our food as “Tex-Mex”, our menu is made up of a combination of flavors, with recipes and ingredients from across New Mexico, Mexican border towns, the Rio Grande Valley, deep South Texas, Austin and beyond. Our Green Chile sauce recipe was “borrowed” from a little hole-in-the-wall in Española, New Mexico, and our fajita marinade is an old South Texas family recipe (used at some “infamous” South Padre Island beach parties.) Mike and John wanted to bring FRESH to Tex-Mex, and that commitment to food is still the core of everything Chuy’s does today. Website.
